Welcome to our school

Welcome to Lew Trenchard Church of England Primary School. Together we grow in wisdom and serve with joy.

Welcome to Lew Trenchard Church of England Primary School’s website. The school is dedicated to the provision of a stimulating, rigorous, creative and balanced education for its pupils. We firmly believe that it is our duty to bring out the best in all of our children in order to discover and nurture their talents. We believe that staff and pupils alike are to be supported to grow together in wisdom and knowledge. We link this to the Christian values and beliefs that underpin the teaching and pastoral support that we offer here in our school. We believe in a reflective environment which supports children to attain the skills and empathy required to treat others as they wish to be treated.

Our Christian vision is that of a school where we all grow together in wisdom and knowledge. A place where our underpinning key Christian values of Respect, Responsibility and Kindness are present in all of our teaching and care for the children. Through accessing a broad and balanced RE curriculum we believe that our Christian focus allows us to offer a place of learning which supports children’s emotional and spiritual development; giving them the skills they need to be ready for life long learning and the challenges this brings.

‘Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path’ Psalm 119:105

The pupils, staff and governors of the school are proud of the school with its combination of 19th century history and more modern developments. A school has been on this site since 1842, but extensions have taken place in recent decades and the school now has extensive grounds which include a sports field, woodland area, pond and tyre park. We provide an environment in which each child’s happiness and well-being is the key to successful learning. Children learn to be self-assured, capable and resilient because of the enthusiasm, energy and passion of the staff and local community.

In April 2017 we joined the An Daras Multi-Academy Trust and in doing so we have become part of a group of local schools who share our values with regards to providing a happy, supportive and reflective environment which supports us to improve educational outcomes for the children of our school. Please go to An Daras website to find out more about the vision and aims of the An Daras Multi-Academy Trust: www.andaras.org
