Lew Trenchard Primary School is situated in the village of Lewdown. The village is located close to the old A30 road, some 9 miles from Launceston, 10 miles from Okehampton and 10 miles from Tavistock.

The school has a wide catchment area with children being drawn from the outlying villages of Lewdown, Stowford, Thrushelton and Coryton.
The school has an interesting history, being built in 1842 on land given by the Baring-Gould family. It was built with stone excavated from a local quarry at a cost of £140! We have a wide range of facilities which includes:
